Great news comes from Manchester where we hear that outsourced NHS workers working for Sodexo have won the pay rise and lump sum awarded to substantive NHS employees in the last pay deal. They won after campaigning through Manchester University Healthcare Branch, campaigns on the rights for outsourced workers in NHS continue across the region.
- Knowsley UNISON branch have secured improved holiday pay for council employees, including a years back pay!
- UNISON members joined protests outside the Tory Party conference in Manchester .
- Solid HCA Strikes continue in Wirral and Warrington & Halton NHS Trusts, with staff in Mid-Cheshire NHS Trust voting 99% in favour of going on strike.
It’s an honour to have been nominated and to be one of the winners for a RCSLT giving voice award, because for me, it’s for everyone else who can’t speak out. Since becoming unwell with Long Covid in 2020, I’ve had to find a new me, a stronger me, a more determined me.
I will continue to advocate and raise awareness locally and nationally to support others.
