Durham County Council, now led by Reform UK, has pulled all funding for Pride 2026 in the city.
The council cited financial pressures and what it refers to as a “specific and contested political ideology”.
TUC North East Yorkshire & Humber, alongside local unions, is supporting the Durham Pride organisers to make sure the event goes ahead – and they need help.
Without funding, the event may be cancelled. Even a small donation can make a big difference.
And if UNISON branches can make a larger donation via bank transfer, they should email: NorthEastYorkshireHumber@tuc.org.uk.
