UNISON has become aware of an increasing number of members who have been charged by third party companies to cancel their UNISON membership.
The amount people are being charged has also increased substantially from around £10 up to £95.
Cancelling UNISON membership is always free and it is very easy to do.
Members can call UNISONdirect on 0800 0857857, or online via the general enquiry form on the UNISON website.
It is also worth speaking to UNISONdirect as cancellation may not always be necessary.
Members should never use a third party to cancel their UNISON membership, as these companies are just charging a fee for what can be done easily for free.
