Commenting on the announcement of Lord Prescott’s death, UNISON assistant general secretary Liz Snape said today (Thursday):
“John Prescott was one of a kind whose drive and determination made him a political colossus. He never forgot his roots in the union movement, doing everything he could to create opportunities and make the world a better place. A character like John is rarely found in parliament these days, and modern politics is all the poorer for it.”
